i know that this isn't exactly exciting news, but i haven't had any real news to report for a while, and i didn't want you to think we weren't doing anything. anyway, we've added some new photos of stephen and james to the images section... they were taken at our last show at the saint by our good friend (and part time band member) kerri...
i promise that we'll have so real news to report soon, including a new show, new compilation appearance (this one should acctually pan out), and possibly even a new ep to be made available before the new full length cd that we're currently working on... i'll let you know when we've works out the details...

2 NEW SHOWS ADDED
ZELDA PINWHEEL has added two shows at THE SAINT in the coming weeks.
the first will be an acoustic set opening for ADAM FRANKLIN (of SWERVEDRIVER) on DECEMBER 27. ADAM is one of stephen's favorite guitarists and this is quite an honor for the band. be warned: do not expect a traditional acoustic set from the band... we have a few tricks up our sleeves...
the second show is on JANUARY 5. we'll be back to our patented noise brigade for this show...

Stephen Quaranta (of ZELDA PINWHEEL) planning solo project
STEPHEN QUARANTA, singer, guitarist, and founder of ZELDA PINWHEEL, is currently working on his first solo release on TRANSPARENT VOICE RECORDS. it will consist of live guitar improvisations which he says "attempt to transcend time and space by all but completely abandoning the ideas of key and time signature, leaving us with sounds that bounce around in a way that may seem quite random, but it's usually not." the moniker for this project has yet to be determined and he has not yet begun to record, but it should be complete by the end of the summer and may be produced by fellow ZELDA PINWHEEL guitarist, JAMES DELATACOMA (also of TOUCHY FEELY, and J BETWEEN the T's among others.)
(UPDATE: this project has been put on the backburner as stephen and james are focussing their time and energy on the new ZELDA PINWHEEL cd and on putting together a live set...)

(UPDATE: this project has been put on the backburner as stephen and james are focussing their time and energy on the new ZELDA PINWHEEL cd and on putting together a live set...) 7.16.01 TransparentVoice.net LAUNCHED and TVR SAMPLER we are pleased to announce the launch of www.TransparentVoice.net , the official web site of TRANSPARENT VOICE RECORDS, the home of ZELDA PINWHEEL and TOUCHY FEELY. the label has also released "transparent music volume I" which features two songs from each of these bands. this is a free comp and will be available through the band and at select record stores. 6.14.01 ZELDA PINWHEEL PERFORMANCES ZELDA PINWHEEL is now beginning to start playing shows again. the band's line-up will tend to vary from show to show. on different dates, the band's core 3 of stephen james and pete, will be joined by a myriad of guest musicians. this promisses to make each performance unique and not to be missed. the set tends to consist of mutations of songs from the new CD, as well as new songs and improvisations... check the 'upcoming shows' section for more details... 6.13.01 NEWS FROM TRANSPARENT VOICE 3 bits of information: first off, 'transparent music volume I - a transparent voice records sampler' is in the works. details are currently begin worked out and it will feature the music of ZELDA PINWHEEL, and other artists that are soon to be released on the transparent voice label... secondly, for a limited time james's 'touchy feely' ep will be given away for free at ZELDA PINWHEEL shows when you purchase the new ZELDA PINWHEEL cd. as we mentioned before, TOUCHY FEELY is the new ambient side project from james. james described this project to stephen as "house music for the mentaly deranged." we think that is just perfect. stephen also plays guitar on one track. this ep has yet to be released on its own. finally, the official transparent voice records web site is currenly under construction. more info as it becomes available... 5.22.01 NEW CD & HAPPY BIRTHDAY first off, the new cd, (:as seen through a thin sheet of glass), is now available... for now it will be a limited edition of 100 hand numbered CD-R's. the first 50 of these will also include a special disc design... the cd is currently only available through the band and record label (in person or by mail order,) but within a few weeks it will be available in select independent record stores in the NY/NJ area and also for direct purchase online... for now, please email transparent voice records at TransparentVoice@ZeldaPinwheel.com to order your copy... we would also like to wish our beloved web site a happy first birthday... it is one year to the day the ZELDA PINWHEEL DOT COM was officially launched... 5.02.01 TOUCHY FEELY james has recorded yet another side project. this one is a 16 minute ambient EP titled TOUCHY FEELY... it was masted at mercenary productions by gabe. this makes four CD's that james has been a major part of in the last year (ZELDA PINWHEEL, J BETWEEN THE T's, SNAKE EYES and now this...) (reminder: the ZELDA PINWHEEL CD comes out in three weeks) 4.26.01 NEW LINE-UP with the release of (:as seen through a thin sheet of glass) less then a month off, we are starting to put together a live set in preparation for summer shows? we have a new band mate. his name is ryan and he will be playing drums and congas. in addition to this, gary has rejoined the band on bass after his year long absence. they will be joining stephen, pete, and james for the upcoming performances? 4.16.01 new ZELDA PINWHEEL cd with the new cd finished, we thought it best not to allow it to sit around and collect dust... so without further delay, we are pleased to announce that the new ZELDA PINWHEEL cd, officially titled (:as seen through a thin sheet of glass), will be released on tuesday, MAY 22, 2001... for the first two weeks, the album will be available exclusively through the band... the first pressing of 100 copies will be hand numbered and colored in crayon... 3.22.01 tJt J BETWEEN THE T?s is the experimental hip hop project from JAMES of ZELDA PINWHEEL. 'DEFinitely Plugged In,' J?s debut CD is complete and has been released in limited numbers. guest musicians include stephen from ZELDA PINWHEEL (guitar) as well as kerri (melodica) and james's brother mike (sax.) to order the cd or hear a track from the album, go to J?s MP3.com site? www.MP3.com/JBetweenTheTs 3.9.01 COMPILATION RUMOR rumor has it that there is a compilation in the works that will feature the music of ZELDA PINWHEEL. the CD will most likely contain two ZELDA PINWHEEL songs: one from the forthcoming CD and one unreleased track. J BETWEEN THE T?s may also be included. other bands rumored to be featured on the comp include TWISTED PAIR, NON-DAIRY LARRY, K!, STILTS, HEATHER, and SANDY GILMOUR and THE BLOODSUCKING VAMPIRES. i must stress that this is not confirmed yet? oh, and still no release date or official title on the new CD yet. 2.13.01 MASTERING COMPLETE we have finished mastering the new cd! a big thank you to gabe at mercenary productions for the help... we should have an MP3 of the mastered version of 'another journey...' on our site within a week or two... the release date of the album is still pending. it will be the first release on TRANSPARENT VOICE RECORDS. 2.06.01 CD FINISHED & NEW COLABORATIONS the cd is recorded and mixed. we are now in the process of mastering it. our friend gabe will be helping us out with that at mercenary productions in new brunswick, nj. in addition, stephen and kerri are featured on vocals in a colaboration with twisted pair. the song is titled 'clarity' and can be downloaded on the twisted pair site (see our links page.) 1.24.01 NEW SONG ON MP3.com the completion of our new cd is just around the corner? it should be finished being recorded and mixed on saturday. the mastering will take place next week? we are still not certain about the release date. there is a new song available on our MP3.com site, called ?another journey through water.? you may notice that ?an epiphany? [from the HOME(?) demo] is no longer there. as we are in the process of remastering the entire demo, we felt it would be better to pull this song down and put it back up later when the sound quality is improved. 12.27.00 HAPPY HOLIDAYS! there is so much to tell... the recording portion of the cd is completely finished. it now awaits mixing. we were planning on starting that this weekend, but the eminent blizzard will most likely keep us home. there is new information on the cd (tentatively titled "life in a glass bubble") in the RELEASES section of our site. this includes a track listing and will soon contain a brief explanation of each song... the HOME(?) demo (which is currently out of print) will be re-mastered on cd and reissued with a bonus track. there is no timetable on this as of yet... james' solo project entitled "J BETWEEN THE T's " is in the works as well. it will feature guest appearances by stephen and kerri... finally, there are new photos in the IMAGES section... 11.11.00 .:ZELDA PINWHEEL:. BEGINS RECORDING DEBUT CD the full length cd is not far off. we began recording on saturday and will be continuously working on it for the next few months... it is being co-produced by thomas j. cope (aka crackhead of twisted pair.) we will keep you posted on any new developments including album title and track listing... 10.03.00 .:ZELDA PINWHEEL:. on MP3.COM yes, our site on MP3.com is finally up!! the address is www.MP3.com/ZeldaPinwheel and there is a link to it on the main page. this site features the acoustic 4 track version of "an epiphany" and will include new tracks as they become available... 8.31.00 HOME(?) DEMO RELEASED the HOME(?) demo is finished being mixed and has been released on cassette only. this is a very limited release. there will only be 22 copies produced. we'll also have a of track on MP3.com within a couple of weeks. 8.20.00 THE HIATUS IS OVER stephen james and pete have all returned. we'll be remixing the HOME? demos next week and recording some extra songs as well. 6.24.00 we're going to hold off for a little while on the HOME? demo so that we can mix it again, and record some bonus tracks. if you have preordered a copy, we have your name on a list. the list is in a safe place. 6.15.00 CIRCLES FOR THE BLIND stephen has announced the release of his solo instrumental ep to be entitled "circles for the blind." it looks to be released in september. (update: this project was eventually released as the final 2 tracks on the zelda pinwheel glass cd) 5.22 ZELDA PINWHEEL DOT COM GOES LIVE! as you can see, the whole site has been revamped... there will be more changes to come, including sound files, additional images, and lots more. we have also recorded a 4 track demo entitled HOME(?). it is going to be released in early june.
