we've been busy in the transparent voice annex working on a number of projects which you will be able to get your hands on soon... the first is a brand new EP by TOUCHY FEELY entitled EXITS OFF THE GSP... using nothing but an old 4-track and a few guitar pedals, production wizard james dellatacoma brings on a brilliant dub-tinged journey down this meca of new jersey transportation, the garden state parkway. this is what makes jersey great...
stephen (of zelda pinwheel) has just finished producing the debut solo effort from ex-celesphere guitarist, Brian McGary, called 'UNWED COUNTRY' ... these 12 sparse acoustic pieces were recorded in the annex earlier this summer and showcase MCGary's amazing songwriting skills... you simply must hear this album...
stephen is also currently collaborating with MIKE OTTER (ex-otters) on a dub cover album., as well as writing songs for THE STEEL RESERVE (featuring MIKE OTTER and SCOTTY CIANIDE)... next up, there will be a collection of 4-track recordings released shortly featuring the music of the 8 seaman collectiveentitled 'THE FABLED PORCH OF 8 SEA MEN'... it will contain songs by TOUCHY FEELY, OMAR RICE BUCKET (stephen quaranta), BRIAN McGARY, MIKE OTTER, BUBBA McGRAW (ex-otters), SCOTT MANGAN (ex-celesphere), and ERIC MANDLEBAUM...
finally, stephen is also working on the soundtrack to a film by new brunswick film maker JAMIE SHUALI... the film is a dance piece and is as of yet untitled... we'll keep you posted on any details...

TWO NEW ZELDA PINWHEEL SHOWS ADDED
ZELDA PINWHEEL has added two shows at THE SAINT in the coming weeks.
the first will be an acoustic set opening for ADAM FRANKLIN (of SWERVEDRIVER) on DECEMBER 27. ADAM is one of stephen's favorite guitarists and this is quite an honor for the band. be warned: do not expect a traditional acoustic set from the band... we have a few tricks up our sleeves...
the second show is on JANUARY 5. we'll be back to our patented noise brigade for this show...

Stephen Quaranta (of ZELDA PINWHEEL) planning solo project
STEPHEN QUARANTA, singer, guitarist, and founder of ZELDA PINWHEEL, is currently working on his first solo release on TRANSPARENT VOICE RECORDS. it will consist of live guitar improvisations which he says "attempt to transcend time and space by all but completely abandoning the ideas of key and time signature, leaving us with sounds that bounce around in a way that may seem quite random, but it's usually not." the moniker for this project has yet to be determined and he has not yet begun to record, but it should be complete by the end of the summer and may be produced by fellow ZELDA PINWHEEL guitarist, JAMES DELATACOMA (also of TOUCHY FEELY, and J BETWEEN the T's among others.)
(UPDATE: this project is on hold as ZELDA PINWHEEL begins to record a new CD and gear up for live shows.)
